Tata Motors is all set to shake up the Indian auto market again! After launching the stylish Tata Curvv Coupe SUV, and teasing the Curvv Dark Edition, now a Tata Curvv CNG variant has been spotted testing in Pune. If all goes well, this could be India’s first coupe SUV to offer four fuel optionsPetrol, Diesel, Electric and now CNG.

Let’s take a detailed look at this exciting development!

🔍 Tata Curvv CNG Spied in Pune

A heavily camouflaged test mule of the Tata Curvv CNG was recently spotted near the Swargate area in Pune. Automotive enthusiast Uday Supekar shared the first spy shots that have sparked curiosity among auto lovers. Although the test car didn’t have any emission testing equipment attached, it’s likely being tested for internal components and CNG fitment compatibility.

If launched, the Curvv CNG will become Tata’s second vehicle after the Nexon to offer four fuel options, making it one of the most fuel-diverse SUVs in India.

💡 What Makes Tata Curvv CNG Special?

Tata Motors is expected to use its popular i-CNG dual-cylinder technology for the Curvv as well. This setup, already seen in models like the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG, hides the CNG tanks neatly under the boot floor. It not only gives a cleaner look but also frees up more usable boot space — a major advantage over rivals.

Currently, CNG SUVs like the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder only offer a basic single-cylinder setup, which reduces boot space and practicality.

🔧 Engine & Specifications (Expected)

  • Likely Engine: 1.2L Revotron Turbo Petrol (not the higher-spec GDI version)
  • Expected Power (on CNG): Around 99 bhp and 170 Nm
  • Transmission: Likely to start with manual gearbox, with automatic (AMT or DCT) option a possibility later
  • Mileage (Expected): Over 25+ km/kg on CNG
  • Boot Space: Optimized with dual-cylinder layout
  • CNG Starting Function: Yes, just like other Tata i-CNG models

🛠 Features – What Will It Offer?

Though there may not be new features specifically for the CNG version, Tata is expected to carry forward all the core offerings like:

  • 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment
  • Digital driver display
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Sunroof
  • 6 airbags (expected on higher variants)
  • Connected car tech, wireless charging, and more

Tata might restrict the CNG option to mid or lower variants to keep prices competitive.

📅 Tata Curvv CNG Launch Timeline & Price (Expected)

Tata Motors may launch the Curvv CNG during the festive season of 2025, possibly around October–November. The Curvv CNG price could see a bump of around ₹1 lakh over the petrol version.

So, if the base petrol variant starts at ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom), expect the CNG version to start from ₹12 lakh onwards.

📌 Our Thoughts

The Tata Curvv CNG could become a game-changer for families and commuters looking for a stylish, premium SUV with lower running costs. With Tata’s proven CNG tech and practical design, it could easily beat the competition — especially if the brand prices it right.

Also, Tata’s focus on offering all major fuel types in one model shows how serious they are about giving choices to Indian customers. That’s exactly what we need in today’s market – flexibility, economy, and features.
